Transition

Autumn brings us face-to-face with transition. Sun fades to shadow in a moment; leaves reach their peak and fall; mist casts a veil then dissolves in a grand reveal. My mind and heart work at the same pace - flashes of energy; a burst of ideas; stretches of atrophy. I squirrel away resources - words in notebooks, crumpets with butter, future travel plans. The earth is on the edge of transition, and we will push it this way or that. Clear voices cut through corrupt political chatter; new imperatives shine through. Citizens speak up, force leaders to raise their game. Yes, we want to live better.
