Uncertainty

The wind is restless today - a residual of two weekend storms that left many without power. Without power - it’s a theme that has circulated during two years of covid uncertainty. While regular people perform heroic acts, our so-called leaders play games of power and hypocrisy. Gaslighting has become a feature of civic life.

As I watch birds cling to swaying feeders and shrubs quiver to their earthen toes, flexibility and adaptation remind me where my own power lies. What do I choose? In this moment and this moment and so on...

The outside sensor lights refuse to turn off as if over-stimulated. Me too with my input of television, podcasts, and daily news. It’s a relief to sit down and read a humorous novel; the young female narrator delights with wry humour and a unique way of seeing the world. She writes her own story.
