Resonance
When headlines scream
when pressure builds
when politicians posture
tired tropes of patriarchal piffle
Now is the time to tend our resonance
Tune in to what feels good
Choose beauty or peace or passion
or one simple deep breath.
Notice the pigeon perched comically on the fence
like an overweight conductor;
Or the blackbird
head cocked, chest puffed
ripe for adolescent blunder.
Admit that the rain has undone
attempts to order the garden
but welcome the new design.
Nature, small or large, moves on apace
while we flounder.
