What am I reading?
I make it a point to track down anything written and published by the Canadian author Helen Humphreys. Wild Dogs is not one of her most acclaimed novels. The narrative is patchy and the different points of view are not equally compelling. Yet I forgive her much for taking risk with form and for moments of lyricism that hit home.
